Introduction

Entracker - project management application designed for steel detailers, concrete detailers and other engineering consultancy teams

Introduction icon

Entracker has been designed based on experience of civil engineers and detailers to fulfill requirements that cannot be met by typical project management applications.

Drawing-centric management

Management process of the application is built around drawings not tasks. We know that preparing a design drawing is a process that might consist of multiple steps and the effect of each one needs to be easily shared between different teams on site and in multiple offices located in different states, countries or even continents. To make it possible we've introduced flow that mirrors the way engineering and detailing offices work.

Submittals

Inside each project created using Entracker you can plan multiple submittals. Into each of them you can upload one package (zip file) that includes your drawings. When submittal is issued a new revision is added to each drawing separately based on its revision history inside the whole project. This way you can upload multiple revisions of the same drawings in different submittals. At the same time drawings are separated from submitals and the information about drawings submitted in the current project can be easily checked and e.g. zip file with all latest revisions of all available drawings downloaded with one click. Terms

Before you look for more details in the next chapters of the resources section check the list of terms used in the application:

  1. Project - you can plan designing process there and gradually upload a full set of drawings keeping track of latest revisions,
  2. Submittal - part of project - a pack of drawings that is planned to be delivered at specific date. In the application its a place where you can upload a zip file with drawings and also other files (like nc files for machining tools). When it's issued a package is distributed between each team members and collaborator and transmittal letter automatically generated based on zip file content,
  3. Team - employees registered in your Entracker company account assigned to a specific project,
  4. Collaborating Companies - cooperating companies include a list of their employees that can be invited to have access to your projects,
  5. Collaborators - employees of other cooperating companies that have been added to your project to see latest updates, download drawings and reports. Can also be marked as a project manager in all generated reports, TLs and RFIs,
  6. TL (transmittal letter) - a pdf document file with a list of drawings that has been found by Entracker in the uploaded zip file, available for download in an issued submittal
  7. RFI (request for information) - document automatically sent to Project manager and other collaborators, requesting explanation for specific issue. It can be commented (with attachments) by team members and collaborators until a solution is found. Can be marked as resolved.
